Frances Lee McEwing, 91, of Pomeroy, died at her home on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.|
She was the widow of Harry "Bud" McEwing, who died in 2001.
Born in Mountain City, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mae Arnold Phillippi.
Frances was an area resident most of her life and was employed by Patti-Tone Sewing Factory, retiring in 1986.
She is survived by five children, G. Katherine Whitehill of Bear Lake, Minn., Cecil W. Gentry of Coatesville, Dorothy E. Chapman of Melbourne, Fla., W. James McEwing of Pomeroy and Deborah L. Read of Kalispell, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Peggy Sissler of Westminster, Md., and Della Reece of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
She was preceded in death by one son, Melvin "JR" McEwing; four sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in St. John's Cemetery in Compass.
Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
