Frank Baker Putt II of West Chester Frank Baker Putt, II, 79, of West Chester, died April 8, 2013, in West Chester. He was the husband of Joyce E. Putt and father to James S. (Sandy) and Frank B. (Trace) Putt, III. Born June 8, 1933 in Abington, he was the son of Elmer E.W. Putt and Geraldine Clark Putt and brother to Betty Ann Daland, all of whom are deceased. Frank graduated from Nether Providence High School in 1951 and Pennsylvania Military College in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War era aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea as a radio operator becoming the Admirals personal radioman due to his exceptional skill with the "speed key" morse code equipment. Frank worked in the oil refineries of Sinclair Oil and BP Oil working his way up into management followed by a freelance career running refinery shutdowns across the country. He was a member of the Exton Exchange Club and president for one year. He was also known for his abiding love for cats and had some of the greatest cats I've ever known over the years. Frank is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Putt and children, James S. Putt of Honolulu, Hawaii and Frank B. Putt, III of Brookhaven, as well as seven grandchildren; three by James and four by Frank B. III. Services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A., 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
