Frank 'Tom' Gottier, formerly of Downingtown Frank "Tom" Gottier, 73, of Smyrna, Delaware, formerly of Downingtown, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at his home with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen J. Gottier (nee Hooven), with whom he had shared 18 years of marriage. Born in Chester County, he was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy Gotshall Gottier. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1962. He was employed by Sackville Mills in Wallingford for 18 years and Frames Motor Freight where he worked for 10 years, retiring in 1995. He also worked at H & R Block in Chester County along with his wife. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping. He was also a NASCAR enthusiast. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Greg and wife, Andrea of Downingtown, Cindy Raymond and husband, Jim of Media; step-children, Stephanie Matusky and her fianc, Edward Charsha of Downingtown, David Styer of Exton, Sharon McBride of Downingtown, and John Styer and wife, Jennifer of West Chester. He is also survived by his sister, Wendy McCardell of Smyrna, formerly of Downingtown; and by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30th, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where friends may call from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Arthritis National Research Foundation, 200 Oceangate, Suite 830, Long Beach, CA 90802.
