Gregory Hill Humes Obituary
Gregory Hill Humes of West Chester Gregory Hill Humes, 24, passed away suddenly on May 19, 2012. He was the son of Sally Hill Saello and David C. Humes, brother of Brittany Saello and David H. Humes, stepson of Gail Humes and Mike Saello, and nephew and cousin to a loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Gregory was an extremely sensitive and compassionate young man with a most gentle soul. Throughout his life he could best be described as "Sweet", although he may not have appreciated the term as a young adult. He had a quick, dry wit and wasn't afraid to use it. He loved vacationing in Maine with his family, where he was able to feel a sense of serenity. Greg had the opportunity to coach young children at a summer camp. He loved coaching children. Greg was a volunteer at a local food bank. He loved rough housing with his Lab who he affectionately called "Brown". He graduated from Henderson High School where he won letters from the ice hockey club. He participated in a local men's ice hockey league. Greg also was a long time participant in the East Side Little League program. On most nice days you could find Greg on a disc golf course with close friends or training to run in an upcoming charitable fund raising event. His happiest times were when he was able to watch Brittany's soccer games or listen to his brother Dave's musical performances. Greg had a passion for music and was a huge Grateful Dead and Phish fan, attending music festivals far and wide to hear their music. Greg also attended Pennsylvania State University (main campus) and West Chester University. Interment is private. A memorial service and celebration of Greg's life will be announced at a later time. Information may found on the Donohue Funeral Home website www.donohuefuneralhome.com or via social media. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania, Children's Music Therapy Program, Lockbox # 1352, P.O. Box 8500, Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352.
