Ina Bell Roten Obituary
Ina Bell Roten of New London Ina Bell Roten, 86, of New London, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Jennersville Regional Hospital, West Grove. She was the wife of the late Don Roten. Born in Warrensville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Frances Church Brooks. Ina attended the Auburn Baptist Church, Landenberg and New Bridge Baptist Church, Colora, Md. She enjoyed canning vegetables that she grew in her garden, as well as planting flowers. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Roten and his wife, Doris of Landenberg, Jerry Roten of New London; two daughters, Wilma Tipton and her husband, Frank of Oxford, Velma Gilles and her husband, James of Manheim; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wade Brooks of Boone, N.C., and Ray Brooks of Rising Sun, Md.; four sisters, Ethel Barker of Christiana, Pa., Flora Woodie of Salisbury, N.C., Dempsey Melrath of Oxford, and Osa Lea Pennington of Warrensville,N.C. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Roten, and six brothers, Garney, Millard, Arden, Harley, Sheridan, and Earl Brooks. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, at the New Bridge Baptist Church, 32 Wyatt Lane, Colora, Md. Friends may call Friday, October 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 86 Pine St., Oxford, Pa. Interment will be in New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Colora, Md.
