I would like to extend my condolences to the family. Death is never something we get use to. But know during this time you are not alone. Our Creator promises better days ahead. He will give you the strength needed to get through this difficult time.

March 1, 2013

I sent a detailed message and condolence earlier today and later realized that I had identified "Brother" as a dog. I now remember that he was a horse and that my boys liked him when we came to see your family when you lived on 222.

I have an early memory of your dad in the 1960's when we lived on the Caln-Mortonville Road outside of Coatesville, before we moved to Reading the first time. Your dad came to our house very early in the morning to go fishing with my husband, Clarke.

When I read the entire obit, I noticed that there were so many things he had in common with your dad, besides Lukens and early-morning fishing. He was also a U. S. Navy veteran of
WW II. As for me, I am also a Penn State graduate. And my son, Steve, who lives close to you, Becky, loves Longwood and has a membership there. I did not know that Ike was a Quaker but saw that a surviving brother lives at Ocean City, N. J. I remember your dad and mother talking about going to the Jersey shore. Our son Steve has a house in Stone Harbor.

Again, my deepest sympathies to you all.
