J. Gilbert Scott Jr., formerly of Malvern, died on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Harrison House in Christiana, Pa. He was 93.|
Born in West Chester, he was the husband of the late Esther W. Scott.
A self-employed farmer, he had worked for Autocar trucks in Exton and retired in 1984.
Gilbert was a member of the Bernhard F. Schlegel American Legion Post 134 in West Chester and a member of the Goshen Grange.
He is survived by four sons, James, Gerald, Joseph and Patrick; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ester Peterson.
He was predeceased by a son, David; and four sisters, Dorcas, Mildred, Miriam and Sarah.
Gilbert's Life Celebration service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, with his viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at the Mauger/Givnish Funeral Home, 24 Monument Ave., Malvern.
Interment will be in Grove Methodist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name may be made to Harrison Senior Living, 300 Strode Ave., Coatesville, PA 19320.
