James A. Shea Obituary
James A. Shea of West Chester James A. Shea, 56, of West Chester, died Monday Sept. 1, 2014 at Brandywine Hall Care Center in West Chester. Born in Stoneham, Mass., he was the son of the late Lawrence Shea and the late Eleanor Murtagh Shea Jim's hometown was Medford, Mass. He graduated from Medford High and Tufts University. He received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign. His working career started as a Senior Research Scientist at DuPont from 1984-1991. From 1991 to 1998 he transferred to DuPont Parma holding the same job title. Jim left DuPont Parma in 1998 to start his own consulting company, Brandywine Analytical Company. Jim was an avid baseball fan and loved the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the Bi-Coastal Baseball (BCB) Fantasy Baseball League, in which Jim for over 25 years was a dedicated owner of the Shea Guevaras team. While traveling he enjoyed joining in on trivia nights. He was a music enthusiast and enjoyed reading. He is survived by his brother, Philip J. Shea and his wife Denise of Townsend, Mass. Jim was preceded in death by brother, Paul L. Shea, and sister, Janet E. Shea. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church St. West Chester, PA 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com Interment will be held privately in Mass.
