James C. "Jimmy" Madison Obituary
James 'Jimmy' C. Madison of Westtown James "Jimmy" C. Madison, 84, of Westtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. Born in Bethlehem, Pa. in 1928, Jimmy was the son of the late James C. and Emily (Brader) Madison. He was also predeceased by his brother, Donald T. Madison. Jimmy was a 1946 graduate of Upper Darby High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked as a wireman for GE in Philadelphia and retired after 32 years. He enjoyed monthly luncheon meetings with his fellow retirees. He worked in the family photography business and was a member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Professional Photographers Association, where he served as Treasurer for over 10 years. He was a member of the Professional Photographers of Pennsylvania, Professional Photographers of America since 1973, the Guild of Delaware Valley and the Triangle Institute of Photography. Jimmy was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and earned his private pilot's license. He was also a member of the Valley Forge Mustang Club and the National Mustang Club. Jimmy enjoyed being an usher at Ss. Simon & Jude Church and working with RCIA and Pre-Cana. He loved being with his family and especially enjoyed playing with his two great-grandchildren. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed with his wife Cathy. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Catharine J. (Grimley) Madison; loving father of Donna (Tom) Stackhouse, Chris (Robin) Madison, and Brenda (John) Lane; dear grandfather of Michael Holmes, Jamie (Mark) Thomson, Carrie Madison, Stephanie (Joe) Madison, Kathy Stackhouse, and Stephen Stackhouse and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Julia Thomson. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at Ss. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, where friends may greet the family 10 to 11 a.m. in church.
