James E. Cahill of Thorndale James E. Cahill, 79, of Thorndale, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. Colligan Cahill, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of the late James J. and Adele McCall Cahill. He was a 1951 graduate of West Catholic High School and received his bachelor of science degree in economics from Villanova University in 1960. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Cahill was employed as a sales representative with Titleist Golf Company for 15 years, retiring in 1991. After his retirement, he worked for Irish Oaks Driving Range in Honey Brook. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Downingtown, where he attended daily Mass. He was a former member of Coatesville Country Club and also served as a member of their board. He was an avid golfer and was known for his Irish wit. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Maureen McKenna and husband, Tim, of Royersford, James J. Cahill and wife, Jeannie, of Parkesburg, Patrick F. Cahill and wife, Janna, of Spring City, Colleen Smith and husband, Harold, of West Chester, and Mary Semple and husband, John, of Coatesville. He is also survived by his sisters, Roseanne Rozmus of Newtown Square and Sr. Janet Cahill, SND de Namur; and by 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, John Cahill; and by his grandson, Conor McKenna. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 17, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conor McKenna Foundation, 162 Buckwalter Road, Royersford, PA 19468, in memory of his grandson.
