Jean A. Hartsky Obituary
Jean A. Hartsky of Wilmington, Del. Jean Hartsky, 82, of Wilmington, Del., a loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Jan. 4, 2013. She was born on Aug. 17, 1930 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, daughter of the late Enola Ruth (Wiseman) and Henry C. McKinley. Jean was an active member of St. Ann's Parish and retired from St. Ann's School after 20 years of service. She was a founding member of St. Ann's St. Vincent DePaul Society and volunteered her time in the community. Jean was devoted to her family. In her leisure time she was an avid bowler, enjoyed reading, puzzles, walking, golf and swimming. She is survived by a loving family, including her husband of 59 years E.W. (Bill) Hartsky and her children; Suzanne Blowers, Michael (Michele), Lynn Brown (Alan), Tom (Pamela), Mark (Patricia), Judy DiMichele (Joey), John (Lisa), Jim (Gail), Jean Pote (Corey) and Carolyn Henry (Bill); 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her brother, Jack McKinley of Mulvane, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Delaware Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care in these past few months. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at St. Ann's Church, Gilpin Avenue and N. Union Street, Wilmington, Del. Family and friends are invited to visit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, Del. Interment will follow Mass on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Bear, Del.
