Obituary Condolences

Jean Roberts Price of Valdosta, Georgia Jean Roberts Price, 74, of Valdosta, Ga., passed away with her family by her side on Monday, November 7, 2011, at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. Born February 14, 1937, she was the eldest daughter of the late Elijah and Ruby Roberts. She had retired from a long and distinguished civil service career working for the Army, Navy and Air Force. Known for her relentless volunteer and charity work, she was the past president of Beta Sigma Phi and and was the current president of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees). Mrs. Price was a member of Northside Baptist Church and recently re-dedicated her life to her Savior, Jesus Christ. Mrs. Price is survived by sons, David (Lisa) Price of Hahira, Ga. and Mike (Jana) Price of Cookeville, Tenn.; sisters, Kathy Wood of Weaverville, N.C., Geraldine (Gale) Barker of Toughkenamon, Rosa Lee (Jerry) Hoosier of Abingdon, Va., Linda (Jim) Hampton of Oxford; brothers, Bobby Roberts of Nottingham and Glen (Kathy) Roberts of Linwood; step-sons, Kyle Barker of Valdosta, Nick Ducati of Pensacola, Fla. and Matt Ducati of New York, N.Y.; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She dearly enjoyed all things involving sentiment and the heart. She was nostalgic and deeply adored all things Christmas. She loved dances, but traveling was her passion and she was so fortunate to travel until the end, her final journey being the most glorious of all. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 11, at the McLane Funeral Chapel in Georgia, with Reverend Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the , Albany Field Office, P.O.
