Jeannette Collins-Fox, formerly of Delaware Co. Jeannette Collins-Fox, 87, of Cape May, N.J., formerly of Delaware County, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday morning, Jan. 13, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, Jeannette was a longtime resident of Delaware County, before moving to Cape May in 1984 where she had been a summer resident since 1978. Jeannette had a successful career of over 30 years with the Bell Telephone Co. of PA, retiring as a manager in 1984. While in Cape May, she worked for the Mid Atlantic Center for the Arts at the Emlen Physick Estate and also performed the duties of tour guide for their trolley tours. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Cape May; the Zoning Board of Cape May; past president of The Village Green Association, Cape May and also managed treasurer duties for political efforts in Cape May. She will be forever loved and remembered by her family for being a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also known to be a devoted Philadelphia Phillies baseball fan. She is predeceased by her first husband, James Collins; second husband, Joseph Fox; two brothers, William Siegel and Alex Siegel; one sister, Kathryn Schmidt and her step-son, Peter Fox. Jeanette will be dearly missed by her loving family which includes her daughter, Barbara Caldwell; granddaughter, Michelle (and Chris) Huth; two great grandchildren, Molly and Mitchell Ashcraft; four step-children, Joe Fox, Jr., Deb Solomita, Tim Fox and Jake Fox. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18th, in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where friends will be received from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be private and at a later date in St. Mary's Cem. Mausoleum, Cape May. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Icla Da Silva Foundation, a group dedicated to the recruitment of bone marrow donors for the national "Be The Match" bone marrow bank.
