Obituary Condolences

Joan M. (nee Chandler) Gagliardi, 82, of Swan Song Farm in Cochranville, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Paoli Hospital.
She was the loving and devoted wife of 60 years to Eugene D. Gagliardi Jr. (inventor of Steak-Umm).
Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Harold B. Chandler and the late Ruth Hacking Chandler.
Joan enjoyed going to Longwood Gardens, the Brandywine River Museum and attending Chester County Day. Joan also enjoyed traveling abroad with her family and close friends.
Joan loved cooking with her husband and being his "prep chef." Joan also enjoyed gardening, antiques, hummingbirds, fine wines and dining.
Joan was a member of The Chandler Family Association.
Joan could strike up a conversation with people of all walks of life and in doing so she made many friends.
She was a devoted and loving mother. She loved all her family, especially her six grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three daughters, Dale G. Messikomer of Coatesville, Kim L. Evans and her husband, Curt, of West Grove, and Jill A. Gagliardi of Parkesburg; grandchildren Brinton, Jordan, Joan, Paige, Devin and Katrina; and a brother, John Barry Chandler of Kennett Square.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lois C. Hoopes.
Family and friends will be gathering for a private celebration of Joan's life.
