John Sheppard Obituary
John Sheppard, formerly of Downingtown John Sheppard, of Centreville Maryland, formerly of Downingtown, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md. on October 21, 2011, of complications of Parkinson's Disease. He was 79. The beloved husband of Beverly Behrens Sheppard, he is survived by two daughters, Anne Kramer and Katherine Carrane, two stepsons William Black and Eric Black, three treasured grandchildren, Hope and Maddie Carrane and Reed Black, a brother William Sheppard and sister Donna Kernan. Born in Scranton, John attended Scranton Central High School and graduated from Penn State University. John's career included 18 years as the Public Relations Director at the Brandywine River Conservancy. He was also a well-known writer in Chester County, where he published more than fifty feature articles on local history and town profiles. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, at the Clarks Summit Presbyterian Church in Clarks Summit, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in John's memory be made to either WYPR public broadcasting, 2216 North Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21218, or a .
