John W. Adamson Obituary
John W. Adamson of West Chester John W. Adamson, 91, passed on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Exton Senior Living after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Rita M. Adamson with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Hackensack, N.J., he was the son of Charles and Anne G. Adamson. Serving in World War II and the Korean War, John retired from the U.S. Navy in 1959 as a Chief Petty Officer in aircraft maintenance. After his retirement he was a horseman, working with broodmares, horse sales, horse shows and the Thorncroft Therapeutic Riding program. He was a member of the Brandywine Hounds and the Professional Horsemen of America. John was known for his sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children: Kristine (Mark McClintock) of N.C., Dorothy Heinz (Sam) of West Chester, Susan O'Sullivan of Calif., John (Norma) of Calif., David (Maria Feeney) of Kennett Square and Steven Sullivan of Ore.; and eight grandchildren.
