Leon D. Benson Jr. of Coatesville Leon D. Benson, Jr., 40, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Christina M. Benson. They shared 13 years together. Born in West Chester, he was the son of Leon D. Benson, Sr. of Narvon and Linda Stafford Hewett of Pink Hill, N.C. He was employed as a mechanic for Unitex. Leon loved spending time with his family. He was a very good mechanic and enjoyed motorcycles and race cars. He was the Pittsburgh Steelers' #1 fan. His motto was "Be good, or be good at it.", a quote which he lived by. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his son, C.J. Martinez, Jr. of Coatesville, and daughter, Adria Leigh Benson at home. He is also survived by his brothers, Lennie Benson and his fiance, Nicole Mello, of East Earl, and Bobby Gouldner and fiance, Sarah Ennis of Middletown, Del.; sister, Ashley Benson of Narvon; nephew, Lennie Benson, Jr.; life-long best friend, Rick Cox, Jr., of Coatesville; step-mother, Jill Benson of Narvon; step-father, Joseph Hewett of Pink Hill, N.C.; mother-in-law, Anna Ferguson of Coatesville; Rose Cox of Coatesville, who was a like a second mother to him; sister-in-law, Michele Ferguson of Downingtown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 12, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Green Mount Cemetery, West Chester.
