Margaret A. Book Obituary
Margaret A. Book, formerly of Coatesville Margaret A. (Yuninger) Book, 84, formerly of Coatesville, entered into eternal rest at 4:35 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Margaret was born Feb. 2, 1928 in Gordonville, the daughter of the late E. Russell and Erma (Johnson) Yuninger. On June 18, 1949, she married Leon J. Book of Lancaster, who preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1988. She attended schools in Paradise while helping with the family poultry business. As a seamstress, Margaret worked for 20 years for Royal Paper Products in Coatesville. Retirement found her volunteering at Brandywine Hospital for 19 years where she served in Central Registration as well as the Women's Center. She also enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends in the card club, as well as eating pineapple sundaes from Dairy Queen. She was a very active supporter of her granddaughters during their school events and always provided an ear to bend. Faithful to her Lord, Margaret enjoyed participating in a variety of bible studies, adult Sunday school and was a very active member of Thorndale United Methodist Church. An avid reader, Margaret grew in her faith by reading many books, including these written by her favorite author. Max Lucado. To share in her love for reading, she ensured that the children of the church, her grandchildren and most recently, her great-grandchildren always had worthwhile books to read. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Linda L. (Book) Schultz and husband Ronald A. Schultz of Selinsgrove; grandchildren, Lori A. (Schultz) Ham and husband, Brian E. Ham of Mechanicsburg, Michelle M. (Schultz) Lawrence and husband Frederic A. Lawrence of Selinsgrove; great-grandchildren, Jack Ham and Asli and Connor Lawrence; brother, John Yuninger and wife Marjorie of Wimavoma, Fla. and Robert Yuninger and wife Gail of Coatesville. Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel (Yuninger) Book of Mount Joy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Thorndale United Methodist Church, 3503 E. Lincoln Highway, Thorndale, PA 19372. Family and friends may call at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Private interment will be in Quarryville Cemetery. In her memory, contributions may be made to Thorndale United Methodist Church at the above address or to Wesley United Methodist Church, 300 Rhoads Avenue, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
