Obituary Condolences

Margaret R. 'Peggy' Higgins of Malvern Margaret R. "Peggy" Higgins (nee Rosato), 77, of Malvern, passed away Jan. 3, 2014. Peggy was the daughter of the late Dorothy (nee De Luca) and Michael E. Rosato. Peggy was a 1954 graduate of Tredyffrin/Easttown HS and spent 40 years working as a reporter and copy editor for newspapers. She started her career with the Daily Local News in West Chester, and then moved to the Main Line Times in 1956. In 1963 Peggy began working at the Evening Bulletin and stayed until the paper closed in Jan. 1982. Peggy spent the final years of her career at the Philadelphia Daily News. Surviving are one daughter, Donna Higgins; two siblings, Ann Daniels and Patrick Rosato; as well as three nephews, Richard, Matthew and Michael Rosato. Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9th, at Alleva Funeral Home, Inc., 1724 E. Lancaster Ave., Paoli, and again from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. on Friday, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Rd., Strafford, downstairs in the Sacred Heart Chapel. A funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken.
