Marjorie L. Gibson Obituary
Marjorie L. Gibson of West Chester Marjorie L. Gibson 80, of West Chester, went home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2014. She was the wife of the late Charles "Chip" Gibson who passed away March 20, 2006. They had more than 42 years of marriage. Born in Milwaukee, Wis. on Sept. 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Cullen George Frey and the late Duella Mae Mall Frey. She was a graduate of West Chester Joint Senior High School, class of 1951; the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia as a registered nurse; and the University of Pennsylvania with a BSN. Marjorie taught medical-surgical nursing at Chester County Hospital School of Nursing. Later she was employed as a school nurse with the West Chester Area School District. Marjorie was a member of the West Chester United Methodist Church for 68 years. She enjoyed sewing and needlework, music, reading, volunteering and summers in Ocean City, N.J. She especially loved playing the piano and spending time as a loving wife, mother and Gee-Gee. Marjorie was greatly loved and will be missed by all. She is survived by her two daughters, Lorraine A. Steele of West Grove and Donna G. Logsdon of Hardyville, Ky.; and her seven grandchildren, Lindsay, Megan, Adam, Amanda, Meryl, Hannah and Glennis; two great- grandchildren, Rachel and Joshua; and six nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Moore and Lucille C. Shirk, and niece Shirley I. Moore. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service, 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at the West Chester United Methodist Church, 129 S. High St., West Chester, where visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Green Mount Cemetery, West Chester. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Marjorie be made to the West Chester United Methodist Church, 129 S. High St. West Chester, PA 19380.
