Martha Marchessa 'Marti' Lozinski of Downingtown Martha Marchessa "Marti" (nee Mentch) Lozinski, 96, of Downingtown, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011, under the loving care of the staff at Harrison Senior Living, Coatesville, and the Hospice Inspiris staff of King of Prussia. The daughter of the late Pearl M. (Quenzler) and the late Raymond F. Mentch, she was born on May 28, 1915 in Akron, Ohio and was raised in the Altoona area. Marti always celebrated her birthday on May 22, the date given to her by her family. She was the widow of the late Thaddeus A. Lozinski, who passed away on February 27, 1988. The oldest of five children, Marti attended Altoona Public Schools and was instrumental in raising her siblings. In 1945, she, her husband and family moved to this area where she became employed as a waitress for many years, at the Madison Diner in Coatesville, Reba's Truck Stop in Sadsburyville and Black Horse Diner in Eagle. She also worked for the Coatesville Area School District in school cafeterias. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Downingtown. She enjoyed gardening, doing plastic canvas, shopping, and visiting family in her younger years. For many years she was an active member of Caln Township Privileged Senior Citizens. Marti is survived by her daughter, Thelma D., widow of Russell A. Leinbach of Mohnton; son, Stephen T. Lozinski and his wife, Ginny of Coatesville; daughter, Linda E., and her husband, William T. Miller of West Chester; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, who she met at her 96th birthday party. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, at the Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Downingtown.
