Muriel Margaret Clare Obituary
Muriel M. Clare of West Chester Muriel Margaret (Carter) (Suller) Clare, 87, was born in New Haven, Conn. to Anna & Jack Carter. The angels took her to heaven on Friday, November 11, 2011 - 9 years to the day that her husband, George Clare departed this earth. She loved her two sisters (Elizabeth Peach, Clearwater, Fla. and Mary Jane Bertolini, Old Lyme, Conn.) and her brother (Jack Peach, deceased). She was a loving mother to four daughters (Dianne Suller, Greenfield, Mass.; Linda Delaney, East Haven, Conn.; Eileen Suller, Middletown, Conn.; and Elizabeth Creager, West Chester, Pa), Nana to nine grandchildren and Nana Clare to ten great-grandchildren; she showed us how to live and love. To her treasured nieces & nephews, she was 'fun Aunt Muriel.' She was full of life, spirit, strength and spunk! She was a friend to everyone she met, an angel to anyone who needed her, and grateful for the opportunity to help; she loved to be useful. She lived by example -not judging, always forgiving; joking with everyone & had a special gift for putting people at ease. She was a faithful Catholic with God as her compass who enjoyed walking, golfing, biking, baby-sitting, ceramics, gardening and everything life had to offer - most of all, she enjoyed her family. The family cheerleader, she was supportive & encouraging. She worked in payroll and inventory for Armstrong Rubber/Pirelli Tire in New Haven, Conn. She and her husband George happily retired to N. Fort Myers, Fla. in 1986 where she had good friends at Riverbend Golf Villas and St. Vincent DePaul Church where she served on the ushering committee. After being widowed, she divided her time between family in Conn., Mass. & Pa. She succumbed to Alzheimer's disease after a 3 month stay at Chester Valley Nursing Home. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. May God Bless and keep you Muriel; you will always be a blessing to us. A Funeral Mass will be held Sat. Nov. 19 at Our Lady of Victory Church in West Haven, Conn. Memorial contributions may be made to: (www.alz.org). Local arrangements are being handled by and online condolences may be made at www.founds funeralhome.com.
