Obituary Condolences

Paul J. 'Jim' Winters of Downingtown of Downingtown, passed away on his 66th birthday, Monday, April 22, 2013, at Brandywine Hospital. Born in Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of the late Paul C. Winters and the late Betty Wentz Spence. Paul graduated from Downingtown High School in 1965, and then went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a union crane operator for International Operating Engineers until his retirement six years ago. Paul was known as a kind and very caring person who was generous to a fault and always willing to help those less fortunate. He had a passion for street rods and enjoyed building them. In addition, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his significant other, Faith Michelle Sommers; and by siblings, John R. Winters, Willie Spence and his wife, Pattie, and Jeannie Biddle, all of Downingtown; several nieces and nephews; and by his beloved pets. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Judy Greene and Betty Jo Thompson. Services are being held privately for the family.
