Paul A. Morrison, 86, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at his home in Morgantown.|
Mr. Morrison was born in Coatesville and lived there until 1977, when he moved to St. Peters. He had lived in Morgantown since 2002.
In 1944, when he was 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving with the Seabees in the South Pacific.
In 1946, he went to work for the Reading Railroad, first as a fireman and later as an engineer, and remained with the railroad until his retirement in 1988.
Mr. Morrison was a member of Mount Carmel Methodist Church in St. Peters.
He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Seabee Veterans of America, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the Antique Automobile Club of Chester County.
Surviving Mr. Morrison are daughters, Linda Zuratt of Coatesville, Cheryl Morrison of New York, N.Y., and Dolores Zander of Parrish, Fla.; sons, Paul D. Morrison of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Denis M. Morrison of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two wives, Victoria (Eagles) Morrison and Diane (Wolfe) Morrison.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Aug. 28, at the Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 339 W. Kings Highway, Coatesville, with a time of visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Methodist Cemetery of St. Peters.
