Pauline Marie Fagan Obituary
Pauline Marie Fagan of Oxford Pauline Marie Shea Fagan, 87, of Oxford, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011. She was the wife of the late Frank C. Fagan who passed away in 1982, and with whom she shared 35 years of marriage. Born in Rising Sun, Md. on January 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles Raymond Shea and Leola Akers Shea. She graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1941, worked as a waitress at the Madison House in North East, Md., and attended the Lancaster School of Business. She worked at the U.S. Army Proving Ground at Aberdeen and Edgewood Chemical Arsenal, Md. during WWII. She was a housewife and mother and a bookkeeper for the family business, F.M. Fagan & Son Hardware, Plumbing and Heating of Oxford. She was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served as an officer. In her younger years, she attended Fremont Church in Nottingham. In later years, she was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church in Oxford and served as treasurer. She enjoyed various ladies Bible studies, seniors groups, sewing, quilting, cooking and pets. She is survived by one son, Larry L. Fagan and daughter-in-law, Robyn, of Kirkwood; two granddaughters, Kira Cole and husband, Joshua, of West Grove and Candace Fagan of Westminster, Md.; and one great-grandson, Avery Cole of West Grove. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine Street, Oxford, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Colerain Baptist Church Cemetery, Kirkwood.
