P.H. "Dougee" Douglass Obituary
P.H. 'Dougee' Douglass of West Chester P.H. "Dougee" Douglass, a resident of Barclay Friends Continuing Care Community in West Chester, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the age of 93. He was married to Virginia I. Douglass who preceded him in death. Dougee is survived by his two sons, Keith Douglass, and his wife Diane and their daughters Gwen of Islamorada, Florida Keys and Dawn of Trenton, Maine, and Keven Douglass, Sr., and his daughters Heather and Paige of West Chester and predeceased by his son, the late Keven Jr. Dougee was a technical sales representative with Sun Chemical Corp. of Philadelphia until his retirement at age 70. He was an accomplished professional roller skater having won the PA State Roller Disco championships in 1980 at age 62 and was founder of "Dougee's Angels and Devils" a roller skating club for young adults. He was an aerobics instructor in West Chester and also coached new instructors. A World War II veteran, he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army with the rank of Regimental Master Sergeant serving on the island of Trinidad and qualified as a Warrant Officer. Dougee was an accomplished yachtsman and authored a dictionary for college students. He was also honored as the first recipient of the Susquehanna Litho Club's Man of the Year award. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 N.
