Richard A. Rettinger, 73, of Coatesville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.|
Born in Sunbury, he was the beloved son of the late Jack A. and Sylvia Nash Rettinger.
Upon graduation, he served honorably in the U. S. Navy.
Richard's love for hunting stretched all the way to Maine with his friends. He enjoyed his boat, fishing and outings with his friends.
He was an avid sports fan; the Eagles and Phillies were his favorites. He enjoyed the Discovery and History channels.
Richard enjoyed holidays and Sunday afternoons with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Laurento Rettinger; daughters, Kathleen M. Salwitz and her husband, Mark, and Jennifer Lynne Slotwinski and her husband, Stephen; son, Richard O'Brien and his wife, Catherine; son-in-law, Robert A. Dale; and six grandchildren, Tiffany A. Johnson, Stephanie Meraklis, Joshua Dale, Brooke Long, William Long and Rigena O'Brien.
He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Deborah A. Dale, in 2000; and a brother, James A. Rettinger.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Vitas Hospice of Blue Ball and its wonderful caregivers and staff.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m.
Interment will be private in St. Augustine Cemetery.
