Ronald Fairweather Obituary
Ronald Fairweather of Claymont, Del. Ronald Fairweather, passed away July 17, 2012, at Regal Heights Nursing Home with his family by his side. Ron retired from the Sun Oil Refinery in 1988. Ron loved to fish and spend time at his cabin on the Brandywine. He had been a U of D football season ticket holder since 1981, and he belonged to the American Legion Post 28 as well as the ROMEO Club. Ron was the son of the late Roydon and Ruth Fairweather, born March 24, 1933. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma and daughter-in-law, DeAnne. He is survived by his son, Richard, and his companion, Lisa VanScoy of Bear, Del.; daughters, Elaine F. McCreary (William) of Florence, S.C., Gail F. Carney (Joseph) of Wilmington, Del., Rhonda F. Quinlan (Mark) of Lincoln University and Robin F. Smith (Michael) of Oxford; grandchildren, Lynn, Richard, Justin, Ryan, Jonathan, Kathlynn; step-grandson, Chris; great-grandchildren, Haley and Travis; many nieces and nephews; and his Claymont Brothers. The family would like to thank "The Man," Dr. Grubbs, and his staff for the great care they gave him, as well as the staff at Regal Heights for the excellent care they gave "our dad." Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, from at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. the following day at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.
