Ronald L. Leonard Obituary
Ronald L. Leonard of Coatesville Ronald L. Leonard, 80, of Coatesville, died Friday, November 11, 2011, at Brandywine Hospital. Ronnie was the husband of Mary Peck Leonard with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Lester J. and Phyllis F. Dell Leonard. He was a graduate of Satillo High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. After over 30 years of service, in 1985, he retired from the Coatesville VA Medical Center, where he helped establish the N.A.G.E. R #3-35 union. He was a member of the American Legion and the DAV. He enjoyed yardwork and hunting. In addition to his wife, Mary, Ronnie is survived by his four sons: Ronald G. and his wife Peggy of Paradise, James J. and his wife Katherine of Coatesville, Daryl E. and his wife Dawn of East Earl and Val G. and his wife Marlene of Coatesville; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dauna Skipper of Tennessee and Cheryl Glasgow of Mapleton; and three brothers, Daryl of Mapleton, Barry of Huntingdon and Rodney of Mount Joy. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jolene D. MacDougal, in 2006. Ronnie's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the Olivet United Methodist Church, Coatesville, where family and friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, at Olivet United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
