Ruth McVey Obituary

Ruth M. McVey of West Chester Ruth M. McVey, 87, of West Chester, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit in West Chester. She was the wife of Charles W. McVey and the widow of Scott R. McVey, who died in 1952. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Lester E. and Elsie Sylvester Montgomery. She worked for Sun Rock formerly of Media, Foote Mineral of Exton and Pepperidge Farm of Downingtown. She was a member of the Clan Montgomery Society International. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing bridge. In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her three children, Barbara Byers of Coatesville, Irene Farra of Millerton, Alan McVey of Coatesville; four grandchildren, Bryan Byers, Julia Taylor, Mark Farra, Sherry Newlin; and four great grandchildren, Kirstie, Joshua, Matthew, and Jimmy. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Elsie Merton, Gertrude Fox, Anna Herron, Helen Matz, and Margaret Bergey. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at the Founds Funeral Home Inc., 229 South High Street, West Chester, 610-696-0134. Interment will be private in Green Mount Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www. foundsfuneralhome.com.
