Steven M. Speca Obituary
Steven Speca of Downingtown Steven Speca, 53, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mellen M. Mailey Speca, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage. Born in Bryn Mawr, he was the son of Angela Forlano Speca of Broomall and the late Robert Speca. He was a 1981 graduate of Western State College of Colorado and worked as a senior account manager with AT&T for the past 25 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Downingtown and the Stonewall Country Club in Elverson. An accomplished photographer, he was also a very active father and enjoyed watching his children's sporting events and participating in the Downingtown West Booster Club. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Gregory R., Christine M. and Daniel R., at home; and by his brother, Robert Speca and his wife, Mary Rose, of Conshohocken. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, March 30, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 30, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown. Interment will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Speca Children Education Fund c/o Citadel Federal Credit Union, 520 Eagleview Blvd., Exton, PA 19341.
