Willa Mae "Mom" Williams Obituary
Willa Mae 'Mom' Williams of Parkesburg Willa Mae Wise Williams, 88, of Parkesburg, was born on May 18, 1924. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, surrounded by her family. Willa was the wife of the late Wallace A. Williams. Raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Willie Wise and Tweedie Coleman Wise. Will Mae graduated from Simon Gratz High School. She worked as a seamstress at Rosenals in Philadelphia. She later retired from retail sales at Macy's here in Chester County. Willa served as a Cub Scout den mother for years and was a voracious reader of the Bible and novels. Willa was a dedicated member of the New Life In Christ Fellowship of Coatesville. As a woman of deep faith in Christ, she loved and nurtured scores of people. She is survived by her sons, Dennis and wife Ava, and Dan and wife Baleria of Chester County; and two sisters, Gladys Murchinson and Barbra Johnson of Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Willa Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund, TD Bank, Downingtown, PA 19335. Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at New Life in Christ Fellowship, 1 South 5th Ave., Coatesville, PA 19320. A viewing will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
