William Daniel Cook Obituary
William Daniel Cook of Paoli William Daniel Cook, 73, of Paoli, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at his home with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn Cook (nee Gregory), with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Cosby, Tenn., he was the son of the late Lawrence and Iva Price Cook. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1954 at the young age of 14. Mr. Cook worked as a conductor with Amtrak for thirty years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Woodstown Masonic Lodge #138 in Woodstown, N.J. He was an avid Downingtown West High School football and Philadelphia sports fan, and enjoyed playing the banjo. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Joanne Black (Donald) of Christiana, Pa., Deanne M. Pirri (the late Frank J. Pirri, Sr.) of Downingtown, Julie Dunleavy (Bill) of Downingtown, and April Boutin (Scott) of Amston, Conn. He is also survived by brother, Eugene Cook and sister, Loretta Targett; and by his 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, J. C. Cook, and sister, Jewel Williams. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16th, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
