William Wallace Kinney Obituary
William Wallace Kinney of West Chester, William Wallace Kinney, 79, the husband of N. Delores (Dee) Kinney, died Saturday at home on May 19, 2012. He was the son of the late William A. and Mabel (Clark) Kinney. Born in Laclede, Idaho, and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, he graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in chemical engineering. He served in the Army Corps of chemical engineers while stationed in Dugway, Utah. His career brought him to Hanford, Wash., where he was involved with plutonium processing. He later was a nuclear facilities inspector for the NRC in King of Prussia, and the DOE in Germantown, Md. Throughout his life, Bill enjoyed furniture making, bridge, sports, and music. Under Dee's direction, they shared a lifetime of singing in church choirs, and community choral groups. He was a member of the St. Francis-In-The-Fields Episcopal Church, Hershey's Mill Singers and numerous Hershey's Mill bridge groups. As a young father, Bill enjoyed coaching his sons' Little League Baseball teams and listening to his children play their musical instruments. Daughter Amy playing the violin always brought a tear to his eye. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dee Kinney, son William C. Kinney, and wife Elena of Spring City, son Michael J Kinney, and wife Patricia of Cary, N.C., daughter Nanette M. McCarthy, and husband Kevin of Peachtree City, Ga., daughter Amy K. Licata, and husband John of Buffalo, N.Y., and nine grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend William's Life Celebration Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 27, following visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 689 Sugartown Road, Malvern. The Rev Glyn Ruppe-Melnyk will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Maryland HQ, 825 Hammonds Ferry Road, Suite H, Linthicum, MD 21090. maugergivnish.com
