Dixie Lee Book Eveler, 75, of West Caln, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Brandywine Hospital surrounded by her loving family. |
She was the wife of the late James A. Eveler, Sr. who died in 1999.
Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest "Tip" and Violet Hoffman Book.
She lived in Coatesville all of her life and worked at First Step of Chester County for 20 years until retiring and then enjoyed her part-time job of four years at Windy Hollow Farms.
She was a member of Kings Way Church in Sadsburyville.
Dixie will be especially remembered for her unselfishness, love, kindness to everyone and her love of photography, gardening, shopping and being surrounded by her family.
She is survived by six children: Candy, wife of William Diviney of Coatesville; Michael, husband of Gwen of Wisconsin; Cheryl, wife of Ralph Roberts, and James Eveler Jr., both of Tennessee; Dana, wife of Jeff Haworth of Coatesville; and Joseph husband of Alanna Supplee Eveler of Coatesville. Also surviving are one sister Donna Book of Coatesville; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, Wendy Smoker Oas, Coatesville, Kimberly Smoker Moore, Nottingham, and Cathy Smoker Hess, Columbia; and cousin Judy Wenger and husband Skip of Coatesville.
She was preceded in death by two sisters. Cheryl and Nancy.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
