Daniel Howard Mumford of West Chester Daniel Howard Mumford, 52, of West Chester, passed away in peace and surrounded with love, on Thursday, March 6, 2014. He was born Nov. 21, 1961, son of Robert and Susan Mumford of Chestertown, Maryland, formerly of Randolph, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Howard and Ella Axford, of Whippany, New Jersey, and Camden, Maine and his paternal grandparents, Rosetta and Frank Mumford of Oswego, New York. Danny grew up in Randolph, New Jersey, and as a youth enjoyed playing in the recreational league sports of baseball, soccer, and wrestling. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1980. He married Lynda Brehm of West Chester, in 1985 and shortly after moved to Chester County, where he spent the rest of his life. He was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed the satisfaction of a job well done. Some of his favorite pastimes were reading, cooking, hunting, fishing and doing cross word puzzles. He is survived by his three sons, David R., Michael J., and William L. (Billy) as well as his parents, Robert and Susan Mumford, and sister, Cathy Helmuth and her husband, Garrett of West Chester, and brother David L. Mumford of Westborough, Mass. He is also lovingly remembered by Lynda and Rich Tyson, and David's fiance, Emily Cowley; Michael's girlfriend, Gabrielle Langlois, and Billy's girlfriend, Vanessa Guzman. A greeting time with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 13th, at Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 South High Street, West Chester, 610-696-0134.
