William S. "Bill" Watson Jr. Obituary
William 'Bill' Watson of Phoenixville William S. Watson, Jr., 90, died peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Florence (nee Hart) Watson, to whom he was married for almost 60 years. He was born in Norristown on Dec. 13, 1923, the son of the late Dr. W. Stuart Watson, Sr. and Lillian Rief Watson. He graduated from Wake Forest College in 1947 with a degree in business. Before retirement he worked as a Field Auditor for Gulf Oil (Chevron). He was a member of St. Peters in the Great Valley, where he participated in many activities, primarily with the choir. He loved to read both history and fiction. He also enjoyed woodworking. Surviving in addition to his wife, are son, W. Stuart Watson III and wife Lynn of Phoenixville, and daughter, Edith W. Flournoy and husband Philip of West Chester; four granddaughters, Christina Watson, Elizabeth W. Wray, Mary Watson and Leslie Flournoy; and one great-grandson, Gabriel Wray. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. James G. Watson and sisters, Mary Adams and Blanche Watson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 4 p.m. on the 3rd of May, at St. Peter's Church in the Great Valley, 2475 St. Peter's Road, Malvern. Reception to follow in the Common Room. In lieu of flowers memorial may be sent to St. Peters in the Great Valley, 2475 St. Peters Road, Malvern, PA 19355.
