Estelle Gertrude Doran of West Chester Estelle Gertrude Doran, 88, of West Chester, died April 30, 2014 at Neighborhood Hospice. She was born on May 27, 1925 in West Chester, and was the 7th of 11 children, 6 boys and 5 girls. She grew up in West Chester, went to West Chester High School and graduated from Chester County Hospital School of Nursing as an RN. She retired after 20 years and was able to work in her garden growing vegetables, fruits and flowers, enjoy the birds that frequented her feeders in the yard and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader. Her excellent cooking skills were the result of her Italian mom's training and her attention to detail. Her favorite thing to do was go to Wildwood Crest with all of the kids and grandkids. Many a summer day was spent on the beach with the families. Estelle was the meal planner, field boss, procurement general and loving "Mom-Mom" to her greatest joy in the world, her grandchildren. She was a great listener and the person everyone went to for advice. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Joe) Spry, St. Charles, Ill., son John "Jack" (Lori Oneil) Doran, Downingtown; and son, Terry (Patti) Doran, West Chester; her grandchildren, Tony, Renee, Katie, Jamie, Patrick W., Patrick M., Chris; 11 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Joe and Bay; and her sisters, Rose, Tish, Isabell and Mary (De-De).
