Mario Robert DiBenedetto Obituary
Mario Robert DiBenedetto of Chester Springs Mario Robert DiBenedetto, 78, passed away on June 4, 2014 at Paoli Hospital. Born June 25, 1935 in Rahway, N.J., he was a son of Anna DiRenzo and Paolo DiBenedetto. He graduated from Rahway High School in 1953 and earned a math/business degree from Rutgers University in 1963. In between, he served in the U.S. Army. Mario continued to live in Rahway until 1969. For the past 38 years, Mario lived in Chester Springs, where he was an active member of the community. During much of that time, Mario had an accomplished career in computer systems, highlighted by his time with Univac/Unisys from 1964-1998. In his free time, Mario enjoyed attending Phillies games, visiting Monmouth Racetrack and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Reada Hazel Ferguson West DiBenedetto. He is survived by his two children, Jennifer and Mario Jr.; his five step-children, John, Judy, Mary, David, and Jeffrey; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7th, at St. Basil the Great Roman Catholic Church, 2300 Kimberton Road, Kimberton, PA 19442. Officiating will be the Rev. Gary T. Pacitti. Friends will be received from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 6th, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. Burial will take place at 12 noon, on Monday, June 9th, in the Hazel Wood Cemetery, 64 Lake Ave., Colonia, NJ 07067. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Abramson Cancer Center at University of Pennsylvania (www.penncancer.org) or the Prostate Cancer Foundation (www.pcf.org).
