Ann L. Moyer Obituary
Ann L. Moyer of Paoli April 11, 1918 - June 28, 2014 Ann was a graduate of Mahanoy City high school in 1935. She moved to Paoli in 1937 and was a resident of the area since that time. She was employed by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) from 1935-1937. In 1937 she started at the drug and makeup counter in Wayne, selling cosmetics and perfume. She joined the staff at Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania in 1942 and worked there for 39 years until her retirement in 1981. Ann was always known for her style and grace - a woman from a bygone era. Ann enjoyed several hobbies during her lifetime - she was an avid photographer with her own darkroom and she planted and cultivated beautiful gardens at her home. Ann loved dogs and was especially fond of beagles - having loved unconditionally Jolly, Christy and Mira. Ann never had children of her own, but she and her neighbor, Jim Clayton, adopted one another in 1988. Both grew to understand and love one another as grandmother and grandson and enjoyed spending time together - they shared a strong passion for dogs and gardening. Ann was a frequent visitor to Lucky Dogs where Jim and his partner Curtis Fenstermacher live with their six rescue dogs. Ann died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a brief illness. Jim and Curtis would like to extend a sincere thanks to Elizabeth Shanaughy for being such a good friend and care giver to Ann over the last several years. In lieu of flowers Ann has requested donations be sent to an animal rescue of your choosing - her two favorites were Main Line Animal Rescue and Beagle Rescue League. www.maugergivnish.com
