Clarence Howard Bowman Obituary
Clarence Howard Bowman, 79, of Coatesville, passed away on July 14, 2014, in the Chester County Hospital.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Horace H. and Laura G. Johnson Bowman. He was the husband of Cordelia Shelton Bowman with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.
He was a graduate of James Adams High School in Coatesville, and retired from the Lukens Steel Company. He really enjoyed sports, fishing and his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Charles H. Bowman of Texas, John H. Bowman of Johnstown, and Daryl Shelton of Coatesville; his daughters. Dorothy J. Famotibe of Delaware, Debra A. Bowman of Texas, Jacqueline D. Bowman Toney (Anthony), Ronnette Shelton, Zemum "Ziggy" Shelton and Marueen Lopp, all of Coatesville; 29 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings Norwood Eugene Bowman of Coatesville, and Henriettta T. Shockley (David) of Coatesville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his special friend Will Suber. He was predeceased by his son Clarence; and siblings James E. Bowman, Theodore R. Bowman, Nellie E. Joseph, Ola Craig and Ida Bowman.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 22, at 11 a.m. from the Bell Chapel True Holiness Church, 132 Modena Road, Coatesville.
Relatives and friends may call at the chapel on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be private.
