Barry W. Burgoyne, 30, of West Chester, died at 5:02 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Michelle Oakes Burgoyne and the father of Giuliana and Luca Burgoyne.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of Barry L. Burgoyne and Linda Wroten DiLoreto.
Barry attended Henderson High School and graduated in the class of 2002. After high school, he attended Automotive Training Center at the Exton campus and graduated in 2005. After several years of working in the automotive industry, his love for computers led him to a successful career change in the information technology field. For the past two years, Barry had held a position as a systems consultant, earning his Microsoft Professional Certification.
He was a member of St. Agnes Church.
Barry was an avid sports player and fan. His passion was on the ice. He played ice hockey competitively throughout most of his life, and continued to play on various adult men's leagues as his No. 1 hobby.
He was an active member of the Face Off Against Cancer organization and was committed to giving back to other families experiencing similar hardships.
In addition to his wife, children and parents, he is survived by his grandmother, June Burgoyne; stepfather, Richard "Chip" DiLoreto; his siblings, Ashley Burgoyne and Steve Simmons; and his stepsisters, Stephanie DiLoreto and Alicia DiLoreto.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester.
Interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home Inc., 410 N. Church St., West Chester, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com.
