Linda J. (Blackburn) Rowe, 63, of Quarryville, passed away on Thursday morning, October 28, 2010, at her home.
Born in Ashe County, N.C., she was a daughter of Josephine (Barker) Blackburn and the late Elmer Blackburn.
She was married to Richard D. Rowe for over 43 years.
Linda was an active member of Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, played piano and sang as a soloist and also in the choir.
Linda was employed by Lincoln University for over 25 years. She was instrumental in the Upward Bound Program, helping students prepare for college.
In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by two sons, Richard Rowe of Nottingham and Robert Rowe at home; a daughter, Tammie Lynn of West Grove; two grandchildren, Richard Rowe, Jr. and Haley M. Jennings; two brothers, Larry Blackburn of Kennett Square and Lanny Blackburn of N.J.; and a sister, Patty Duvall of Rising Sun, Md.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer and her twin sister, Brenda.
Funeral services will take place at at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 1, at the Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church, 408 Bayard Rd., Kennett Square, PA 19348, with Rev. Robert Vannoy officiating.
Interment will follow in Nottingham Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
The viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and again from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, at the church.
