Pamala Grunkemeyer Taylor of Newtown Square Pamala (Pam) Taylor, 81, of Newtown Square, Pa. died Friday August 31, 2012 at Wellington Terrace in West Chester of dementia. She was born on December 24, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to Martha Francina Grunkemeyer and Albert James Grunkemeyer. Pam graduated from Mifflin (Ohio) High School and attended The Ohio State University. She was married on November 1, 1952 at Glen Echo Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ohio to Ervin Francis Taylor of Columbus. They lived in Columbus, Ohio, Penn Hills, Pa. and Baltimore, Md. before settling in Newtown Square. Pam was a bookkeeper for Columbus Mutual Insurance and executive secretary at North American Aviation. She also successfully served as taxi dispatcher for a short time. Pam loved little children and animals, and would go out of her way to show them that love. She is survived by her husband, Ervin, their children, Mark of California and Michele DiPretore of West Chester, their son-in-law Richard DiPretore, their grandchildren Eric, Pamala and Ciera, and their great grandson, Ethan Diaz. She was predeceased by her brother, Albert James Grunkemeyer. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday September 4, 2012 at the DellaVechia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com Funeral Services will be conducted by Michael Sullivan, Chaplain at 12 Noon on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery in Chester County. Memorial donations are suggested to be made to your local animal shelter. The family expresses their appreciation for the outstanding services provided by the Caring Hospice Services and by the nurses, aides and others at Wellington and Wellington Terrace in making Pam comfortable during her final days.
