John Francis Casserly III of Downingtown John Francis Casserly III, 72, passed away suddenly on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. Born in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Shelly) Casserly. John graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 1958 and worked in the textile industry his entire career until his retirement from Cranston Printworks in 2005. John married Donna Lilyan Kentzel and together they raised seven children in East Greenbush, N.Y. In 1985 they relocated the family to Woonsocket, R.I. Upon his retirement he then moved to Downingtown, and was looking forward to spending his remaining years at Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook. John enjoyed camping and nature and was an avid sports fan, always cheering for his N.Y. Teams and his Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Proud of his Irish heritage, he belonged to the Albany AOH for many years. John was preceded in death by his wife Donna, son John F. Casserly, IV and grandson Devin John Casserly. He is survived by his sisters Joanne Casserly of Troy, N.Y. and Elizabeth Haller and her husband Joseph of Latham, N.Y., daughters Therese Saello and husband Christopher of Downingtown, Elizabeth Spas of Woonsocket, R.I. and Lori Dubois and husband Paul also of Woonsocket, R.I., sons Christopher Casserly of Woonsocket, R.I., Timothy Casserly and wife Cheryl of Harrisville, R.I. and Brian Casserly of Parkesburg. John is also survived by his eleven grandchildren Christian, Andrew, Lauren, Braden, Savannah, Nicholas, Kadance, Jeremiah, Timothy, Leila and Kilee whom he loved very much. John also had three nieces and nephews, Suzannne (Haller) Currier, Joseph Haller and Jason Kentzel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be immediately following and held at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, N.Y.
