Gregory P. Florian Obituary
Gregory P. Florian of Coatesville Gregory P. Florian, 62, of Coatesville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. He was the husband of Deanna Ohar Florian with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Paul and Betty MacCauley Florian. Greg grew up in the Coatesville area and was a 1968 graduate of Coatesville Area Senior High School. He joined the Marine Corps in 1971. Greg worked for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and the Downingtown School District, in addition to owning a landscaping business for over 30 years. In his early adulthood, he enjoyed racing motorcycles, karate, wrestling, weight lifting and was an amateur boxer. Greg, along with his neighbor and best friend, Jeff Benson, shared a love for the outdoors and spent many years enjoying their animals, birds, fish, plants and racing pigeons. Most recently, his greatest pride and joy was being the Papa to his three granddaughters, Presley Lazos and Stella and Sydney Fitch, who will forever miss their "best boy" as they always called him. In addition to his wife and granddaughters, he is survived by his daughters, Shannon Fitch and husband, Steven of East Fallowfield and Lindsay Lazos of Cochranville; a sister, Susan Florian of Chester Springs; and a brother, Timothy Florian of Coatesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 11, at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10th and beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday. In his memory, contributions may be made to the SPCA of Chester County, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380 or to plant a tree in his honor.
