Ann Sickora Obituary

Ann Theresa (Drotar) Sickora, of Doylestown, formerly of West Chester and New Milford, passed away on Feb. 6, 2013, after a brief illness. She was 91.
She was the beloved wife of Peter Paul Sickora for 31 years until his death in 1973.
Born in Rudno, Czechoslovakia on July 4, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Pavlik) Drotar.
While sailing to America in May 1927, she and other passengers witnessed Charles Lindbergh's historic flight as his plane flew over their ship, with "Lindy" waving to those on board.
Upon arrival in the U.S., Ann and her family resided in Del Norte, Colo., and Cleveland, Ohio, before settling in Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania.
She attended a one-room grade school in Lakeview and was a 1939 graduate of Laurel Hill Academy. She then completed a one-year post graduate program.
Ann worked in New York City for a time before marrying Peter Paul Sickora in October 1942. They eventually made their home on a farm in Lakeside, Pa., where they were active members of St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church.
In 1959 they moved to West Chester, where Ann resided for 51 years. The Sickoras were members of Ss. Philip and James Church in Exton.
Ann worked as a cashier at Chester County Hospital, as a secretary to the home economist at Grocery Store Products and later as a secretary at Immaculata College.
She moved to Doylestown in 2010, where she was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish.
Mrs. Sickora is survived by her three children: RoseMarie Wert and her husband, Bryan, of Perkasie; James Peter Sickora and his wife, Bonnie, of Bernville; Joseph Thomas Sickora, of Berwyn; a sister, Pauline Garry, of Ridgefield, Conn.; four grandchildren: Roberto Conrique, of Hatboro; Peter Conrique and his wife, Carole, of Callahan, Fla.; Scott Sickora and his wife, Lora, of West Reading; Aimee Young, of Phoenixville; 10, soon–to-be 11, great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Banko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, at St. Agnes Church, 445 N. Main St., Sellersville, Pa. Friends and family may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 N. Main St., Sellersville or from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pratt Memorial Library, P. O. Box 407, New Milford, PA 18834.
