Doris H. Ryan

Doris H. Ryan of West Chester Doris H. Ryan, 102, of West Chester, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at Barclay Friends in West Chester. She was the wife of the late William Pollock Ryan. Born in Marshallton, she was the daughter of the late Barton John Harper and the late Elsie Mae Chambers Harper. Doris was a 1931 graduate of Homeopathic Hospital. She became a registered nurse and work as a private nurse for many years. Doris was a member of the Homeopathic Nurses Alumni Assn. and Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, knitting and volunteering at the Bring & Buy Store in West Chester. Doris is survived by her daughter, Constance R. Bullock of West Chester and one granddaughter, Lynn B. Weaver. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Norman Harper, Winifred Johnson and one great-grandchild, Kenneth R. Weaver.
