Barbara Elizabeth Comfort Obituary
Barbara Elizabeth Comfort, formerly of Birchrunville Barbara Elizabeth Comfort, 70, passed away on Oct. 7, 2013, after a 13 year battle with breast cancer. Daughter of the late Robert and Isabelle Prezioso she was born in New York, N.Y. She lived in Briarcliff, N.Y. and graduated from Briarcliff High School. Barbara married Lee Comfort in 1967 and they relocated to Birchrunville, where they lived for 30 years. Recently, Barbara and Lee began spending the majority of their time in Boca Grande, Fla. Barbara was a passionate gardener, and beautiful landscaped gardens were a hallmark of the family homes in both Pennsylvania and Florida. She was a member of the Twin Valley Garden Club, and won awards for the club at the Philadelphia Flower Show. She also attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. In Boca Grande, she was an active member of the Boca Grande Art Alliance and and her works could often be found at local art exhibits in the community. She was renowned for her works in both pastels and oils. A loving wife, devoted mother, and devout Christian, Barbara lived a life committed to the service of her family and Jesus Christ. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband Lee, of Boca Grande, Fla.; and her beloved sons, Cliff, of Miami Beach, Fla. and David, of New York, N.Y.; and her siblings, Robert Prezioso of Austin, Texas, William Prezioso of East Fallowfield, and Brenda Russell of Columbus, Ga. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14th, at Calvary Fellowship Church in Downingtown. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Boca Grande Art Alliance, Boca Grande Florida at www.bocagrandeartalliance.org
