Robert B. Price, 80, of West Chester, a beloved husband, father and grandfather entered eternal rest on Feb. 7, 2014.|
Born in 1933 in Belton, S.C., Robert was the son of the late Fay (Turner) and Ben Price. He grew up in Ninety-Six, S.C., graduated from Ninety-Six High School and received a Junior Accounting degree from the Greenwood College of Commerce in 1957.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. While in the Army, he was both a Nike Hercules Missile technician and also an instructor for the Nike Hercules missile. He was also a foreign military training sergeant who oversaw the training of our NATO Allies. He retired as a sergeant first class from the military after 24 years. After the Army, he worked as a Deputy Sheriff Corrections Officer in Gretna, La. and later worked in Norwood Industries in Frazer, Pa. until his retirement.
Robert enjoyed watching Nascar racing and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in West Chester.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joan (Baum) Price; son, Vincent Price of West Chester, and daughter, Brenda Janda (Christopher) of Wilmington, Del.; grandchildren, Jessica and Melissa Janda of Wilmington, Del.; and sister, Doris Price Cole, of West Chester. He was predeceased by his brother, William Price.
Services and interment are private.
